DESCRIPTION:In celebration of our 50th Anniversary Year of Service launch and our ongoing efforts to unite people from all walks of life and diverse racial backgrounds to benefit Aslan’s Children\, we are excited to announce the 17th Annual Run & Walkathon for Aslan’s Youth: Together We Stride. \nAslan Youth Ministries deeply appreciates the hundreds of thousands of dollars raised by runners and walkers over the years. This annual event raises crucial awareness of our mission to serve at-risk youth in Monmouth County\, NJ. All the children we serve live below the federal poverty level and face numerous adversities\, including abuse\, neglect\, family dysfunction\, community violence\, discrimination\, and peer victimization. \nOur organization continuously innovates to support youth\, families\, and local communities. A vital component of Aslan Youth Ministries is our volunteer program\, which brings together a diverse community of residents who serve as tutors and mentors for Aslan’s children. Volunteers share their skills and expertise in math\, reading\, science\, financial literacy\, boating\, painting\, and other special skills.  But more importantly\, the heart of our ministry is our volunteers\, whose dedication helps ensure our children thrive\, as evidenced by the many success stories of our Aslan Alumni. \nBeyond Monmouth County\, our work in Haiti helps people escape poverty by empowering their lives physically\, mentally\, and spiritually\, enabling them to become change agents for their nation. SUMMARY:Beauty and the Beach Run 2023
DESCRIPTION:For many years Aslan Youth Ministries has received support from runners and walkers in support of our service to the children in Monmouth County\, NJ. We help some of the most marginalized families who have endured the challenges of poverty and trauma. We help children from kindergarten through high school\, all of whom start in our programs below grade level. For many reasons\, including lack of support at home\, difficult behavioral issues\, and low school performance\, our children don’t have the opportunity to participate in many afterschool programs. Our approach of love and consistency has helped thousands of children over the years. We not only provide door-to-door service (to ensure children are able to attend our programs and reach home safely)\, but we also provide one-on-one mentoring and tutoring that ensures lasting change. \nOur Beauty and the Beach Run ™ held at Gateway National Recreation Area (Sandy Hook) is one of the most popular races in the area.  We offer 5K or 5 mile walk or run options. \n$40 April 1 through August 31 \n$45 After Sept 1  late registration\n\nClick here for full registration info\n\nClick here to view Beauty and the Beach Run for Women

SUMMARY:Beauty and the Beach Off-Shore
DESCRIPTION:Welcoming families to fundraise for Aslan Youth Ministries\nThe first Beauty and the Beach Run Race was held in 2007. Thankfully in the past two years we navigated the devastation of the pandemic and created a successful hybrid race where runners and walkers can choose to participate on-site or fundraise for Aslan. \nIn celebration of our work in bringing together people from all walks of life and of all racial backgrounds to benefit Aslan’s Children. \nBeauty & the Beach Off-Shore will be held August 25 through September 25\, 2022. \nAslan Youth Ministries is thankful for the hundreds of thousands of dollars raised from runners and walkers over the years. Historically\, the race raises awareness of our mission to serve at-risk youth residing in Monmouth County NJ. All the children we serve live below the federal poverty level\, who\, in addition to experiencing poverty as an adversity\, may be subjected to the experiences of abuse\, neglect\, and family dysfunction\, along with a host of other stressors\, including community violence\, discrimination\, and peer victimization. \nWe have continued innovating our services to support youth\, families\, and our local communities. An equally essential part of our organization is our volunteer program. We proudly bring together a community of diverse residents\, who serve as tutors and mentors for Aslan’s children.  \nThe heart of our ministry is our volunteers\, and many have given so much to help us ensure our children thrive. Evidence of that is in the many success stories of our Aslan Alumni. You may read more about Aslan’s Alumni and their proud legacy of successes – click here. \nThe success of the tutoring program hinges on recruiting dedicated volunteers. COVID-19 put a stop to all volunteer recruitment. However\, in late 2020\, with funding from Impact 100 Jersey Coast\, who believes in our methodology\, Aslan was able to hire a Director of Volunteers who is spearheading the efforts of rebuilding the volunteer program and matching tutor/mentors with children. \nIn addition\, Aslan’s work in Haiti is to help people escape the devastation of poverty by empowering their lives – physically\, mentally\, and spiritually – so that they can\, in turn\, become change-agents for their nation. We have a clinic to serve the medical and nutritional needs of the community\, Maranatha Church addresses their spiritual needs\, and our school is devoted to educational enrichment for the 400 families we work with. \nWe are proud of our 15th Annual Beauty and the Beach Run ™ designed by women for woman. Proceeds raised from this race support our programs for at-risk disadvantaged children served by Aslan Youth Ministries.
