Hi Everyone,

I just spent last week in Haiti with Chris Kohn (pictured right) and 4 team members from Heart For The World Church (HTFW) in Las Cruces, New Mexico.  This was absolutely one of the most wonderful group of people that has ever joined us in reaching out to our friends in L’Acajou and Ouanaminthe!  The name of their fellowship6a00e552ed7b7588330133f26677fa970b-320wi says it all.  From the moment they walked across the bridge from the Dominican Republic into Haiti, their hearts were filled with amazing love for the people of Haiti.

I have enough blog material from the past 8 days to fill a book, and I will be sending you pictures and stories of so many good things that happened during our time together.  Our Aslan kids in L’Acajou experienced things they’ve never experienced before.  Sunday was a joint affair, with girls and boys together.  Then we split the groups up, so we could personalize the programs and develop closer relationships.  First came 78 girls on Monday and Tuesday, and then we had 80 boys on Wednesday and Thursday.

This year we were privileged to be able to feed the children a bountiful meal each day.  It was heartwarming to see how enthusiastic they were after their stomachs were filled with a nutritious meal!  With Bible stories, treasure hunts, freeze tag, tug-a-war (the losers splashing into a 7′ diameter pool of water!) and tons and tons of singing, there was just no way these children could not have a wonderful time.  Then after finishing camps, we stopped by the homes of some of our children to share a bag of rice and some “care packets” with their 6a00e552ed7b7588330134858be46e970c-320wi families.  It was humbling to step into mud and wooden shacks (some with banana leaf roofs and dirt floors like the one pictured on the left) and be welcomed like kings and queens.

If a picture says a thousand words, then these pictures are a “book.”  So many, many lives were changed last week.  Our children in L’acajou will never forget the time the “crazy Americans” shared the story of the Prodigal Son, with Robert rolling in the dirt with a “piggy nose” attached to his face.  Bless you ~ Chris, Robert, Alisha, Alma and Selina ~ for the tremendous blessing you brought to these little ones.  They will never forget you, and they will never stop loving you!

More to come!

Craig

P.S. The photo at the top is Alisha and friends.  Below left is a group of our little ladies enjoying a large plate of rice.  Bottom right is one of our girls praying before her meal.
