Hi Everyone!

Clean Examination RoomI returned from Haiti a couple of weeks ago, after a very productive 2 weeks there. I know many of you didn’t receive my emails from there, because I was notified they did not go through. Hopefully, this will catch those of you who I missed up with the latest good news!

It was wonderful to get our three medical units released from customs and trucked to our land about 50 miles away! During the first half of October, the three steel buildings become one and a beautiful medical clinic emerge. Without the help of Kyle, John, Patrick and Russell (the gentlemen who accompanied me down from the US), this would not have been possible. And, of course, Joseph Israel (Aslan’s Haitian Director) worked day an night to insure that we had everything we needed for the job!

[Pictured above is our beautiful, clean examination room one. It’s just like your doctor’s office here in America!]

The most difficult parts of the job are done. Now all that remains to open the clinic are:

  • Making the electrical connections at the main panel and to the 62,000 watt generator;
  • Finishing the septic system (leach fields and plumbing);
  • Putting a protective roof over the clinic and a retaining wall and sidewalks around the entrances;
  • Flushing our deep water well, building a water tower and making all the supply and waste water connections;
  • Building bathrooms and a septic system for the people who will be served by this marvelous clinic.

Dental Lab & X-RayIn January I will be taking another small group of individuals with me to complete the above. It is our goal to have our first group of doctors and nurses from the States serving at our clinic for a week this coming March (barely 5 months from now)!

I want to thank all of you who have prayed for this clinic to be completed and who have given towards the cost of its completion. We still have so much to do, and we need your continued gifts to do it! We are currently raising $45,000.00 to match two gifts from two generous donors that helped us pay for the costs so far. Please consider going to Aslan’s website, www.aslanyouth.org, as you read this and designating a gift towards this need. We have a “Haiti Clinic Match” category to makes things easy!

Be watching for blog updates in the coming few days!

God bless,

Craig
