I’m back in Haiti, and lots of good things are happening.  Yesterday, we set up tents on our land and saw 70 people through our medical clinic.  Andy Putman (a Registered Nurse) his wife (Kendra) and Pastor Dave Fair worked all day, and treated a variety of moderate to serious infections, wounds and ailments.  It is unusually hot in Haiti for May, with the temperature in the high nineties.  Even under these difficult conditions, the team has such a great attitude and spirit.  We also had Dr. Jean Baptiste (a Haitian doctor and friend of Joseph’s) with us.  He is a gifted physician and exactly the kind of individual we want as an administrator for our medical clinic in the future.

On the way here, Steve Treson and I stopped off in Puerto Rico and visited our architect and designer for the buildings on our property ~ Luberto Velez.  Steve is a former construction guru that worked for years on major building projects in NYC.  He now works for a wonderful  foundation, The Friendship Train, that supports Aslan’s programs in New Jersey.  Steve and Luberto are a major driving force in getting our clinic building going.

God  bless!

P.S. Pictured above are Daniel (right), David (middle) and Carol (left).  We’ve written about little David before.  He has a life-threatening heart problem from which he will die soon unless he has surgery.  Even with surgery, he could still die.  Daniel is one of the best fathers you will ever meet, and he loves his children with all his heart.  Please pray with us, as I will be taking Daniel and David back to Santiago in the near future to speak with a heart surgeon.  If he okays the surgery, we will need to raise about $20,000.  I know it is a risk.  Having lost both my sons, I also realize that little David’s life is as valuable to God as anyone’s on earth.  It is worth the risk.  Jesus said that our Father in heaven knows when every sparrow falls to the ground and dies.  If God values the life of a sparrow, how much more does he value our lives. Jesus then says that our lives are worth far more than many sparrows.
