Natasha joined Aslan at seven, a sweet and pleasant child who was rarely a problem for anyone. Raised by a hardworking single mother who dearly loved her and her sister, Natasha’s mom often expressed gratitude for our assistance.

Recognizing Natasha’s potential, we paired her with an Aslan tutor and mentor to help her excel in school.  Natasha’s dedication to her studies was evident throughout primary and middle school.  She was a model student, demonstrating the effectiveness of our tutoring program.  Natasha also participated in Aslan’s Right Choices, Summer Camp, and various enrichment activities such as long-distance cycling and downhill skiing.

As a teenager, Natasha faced the pressures of high school and decided that she no longer needed Aslan’s tutoring during her sophomore year. Her attendance at Right Choices dwindled, and we grew concerned. By the end of her junior year, she was on the verge of failing and asked to rejoin our program. With our intensive support, she improved her grades and got back on track.

Natasha applied and was accepted at Hampton University in Virginia.  Aslan was privileged to assist her with critical scholarship support, as we do with many of our students. However, personal issues forced Natasha to return to New Jersey before her senior year, causing a significant setback.

Determined not to give up on her dream, Natasha enrolled at Monmouth University a couple of years later and completed her degree in education. She is happily married today with two beautiful children and a loving husband. As a teacher, Natasha now helps shape the lives of children with the same values and dedication she learned through Aslan’s programs.
